The Kate’s Kids Scholarship Fund will honor Kate by providing scholarships to deserving students, including our girls and other qualifying children from the local community.

Twelve years ago, “Kate’s Kids” opened its doors to ten girls on rented property. Since then, Hekima Place has grown in size and reputation, today caring for and educating nearly 90 girls of all ages. As Kate steps back from daily management of the home, we honor her for her love, courage, energy, and compassion for the girls of Hekima Place.

Please join us in thanking Kate for her years of service by donating to the Kate’s Kids Scholarship Fund. We hope to raise $50,000 between August 1 and September 30 to show our appreciation and love for Kate, who has inspired so many. Thank you for your generous support!

A Letter From Jim DiPiero

  • "Kate, my involvement with the girls of Hekima is only possible because of your vision and faithfulness in founding Hekima Place and working tirelessly to make it the success it has become. Through your efforts, God has touched my heart and helped me to reach beyond my own resources to serve the girls with conviction and joy. Thanks for your blessing to me."

  • "Kate, your talent and determination are awesome and inspiring. I hope you have some time during the next few years to take pleasure in what you have accomplished."

  • "Kate, you have come a long way since our prayer group meeting at Eat ‘n Park when you told us you wanted to go to Africa to help kids with AIDS. We were in awe that you were really going to do it. Here we are now seeing you handing over the torch of Hekima Place to Jenny with grace and much love. As your dear friend I am so proud of you, Kate, and I thank God that our paths crossed. My life is so much richer and more fulfilling because you said yes – that you would take on this monumental task of caring for our wonderful girls. You are such a blessing to these girls and to those of us who have the privilege to work alongside of you for these many years. I thank God for you and of course for the Hekima girls in my life."

  • "Dear Kate, The vision, inspiration and love that the Lord gave you to found Hekima Place is beyond words. I know you will look back and be proud of the work you have done and the lives you have saved, while looking forward to the inspiration you will continue to provide our growing Hekima family. I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have found Hekima Place and I am honored and humbled to work with you as we continue building your legacy, knowing our girls will always have a place and family to come home to …… and YOU created it all. God Bless You, Kate!"
