Hekima Place Announces Grant from the Wilson Sheehan Foundation

Hekima Place | April 24, 2018

Hekima Place, a faith-based home for orphaned and vulnerable girls in Kenya, announces with gratitude a grant of $50,000 from the Wilson Sheehan Foundation, a private foundation based in Springfield, Ohio. The grant will advance construction of Hekima Hills Learning Centre, a primary school for girls in residence at Hekima Place and other girls and boys from the surrounding region of Kajiado County, Kenya.

The mission of the Wilson Sheehan Foundation—to empower women, children, and families to elevate their quality of life in enduring ways—aligns closely with that of Hekima Place, a home for orphaned and vulnerable girls in Kenya. Recognized as a model children’s home in its service area, Hekima Place provides a safe, faith-based, loving home for over 90 girls and young women, while supporting excellence in education and empowerment for their futures.

We are deeply grateful for this vote of confidence in our vision of creating an academically rigorous,  and emotionally supportive, primary school for children in Kenya.

Thank you, Wilson Sheehan Foundation—we are blessed by your support!
